This is the genuine US Military Issue Modular Sleeping System. It is comprised of 4 components: A patrol bag good for moderate temperatures down to about 35 degrees. An intermediate bag for colder climates down to about 10 below. A Gortex water and wind proof Bivy used to protect the bags and offer concealment to the user. This bivy is woodland camo. I have other sets in urban grey with the ACU digital bivy Use all three bags together for a rating down to -40 degrees as tested by our military. This is considered to be one of the best systems in the world. A compression bag is the 4th component used to compress the bags for storage during transportation. Note: Never store your bags for long periods of time in the compressed state. I have been told that doing so may cause your set to lose some of its insulating properties. Hang your bags up when not in use or store them in a large tote or container. All bags are in excellent condition to like new condition.

Modular Sleep System - 4 Part

The MSS sleeping bags and other components are constructed to be used in conjunction with each other, or separately to complete an interoperable system known as the extreme cold weather sleeping bag. The MSS is designed to provide comfort in temperatures ranging from 50°F to -50°F when wearing various layers of extreme cold weather clothing.

The Water proof Bivy Cover is produced utilizing waterproof, moisture-vapor-permeable material with all seams heat sealed. The Compression Stuff Sack is constructed with water resistant materials with adequate volume for both bags as well as the bivy cover. This unique sack compresses the system to one cubit foot.
